SPEECH AND COMMUNICATION CLASSES – Students in Years 5-10
Speech and Communication classes prepare students for a communication-savvy world, teaching them to be creative and confident speakers.
Classes aim to empower students with effective communication skills and build their self-esteem through public speaking, eisteddfods, AMEB and Trinity College of London examinations, and other fun, imaginative activities. Small group sessions ensure each student is given the time and attention they need.
In 2018, classes will be held at Brisbane Grammar School on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They are available before school, at morning tea or lunch time.
Students in Years 5 to 8 also have the option of classes during school hours on a rotation system that ensures that students will not miss the same school lesson from week to week. This system has been very effective, and is a great choice for boys with co-curricular activities in the mornings and lunch hours.

48HR THEATRICAL EXTRAVAGANZA
Students in Years 5 – 10
Participants get a taste of the real-life production process by attending an audition(11th March) and a script read-through (25th March). They then have five weeks to learn their parts. When they arrive for their first rehearsal at the Visy Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse, on the evening of Friday 27th April, the countdown starts – in less than 48 hours’ time, the audience will be seated, lights will go up, and the show will begin!
With only 13 hours of rehearsal in total, we need expert tuition, so students will be guided through the process by theatre professionals with experience in producing, directing and performing on stages around Australia.

The cast will be limited to 40 students, so make sure you secure a spot by signing up online for the 48-Hour Theatrical Extravaganza.
Enrolments can be completed online from the 28th February 2018
